What vendors and quote types does BuyersX support?
IT vendor quotes in PDF format: hardware (Cisco, Dell, HPE, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet), software (Microsoft, VMware), cloud, and managed services. Benchmark coverage varies by vendor and product. Not yet covered: Ubiquiti, Extreme Networks, Ruckus. Cisco Meraki is not confirmed.
How is my data kept private?
Your quote PDF is read on our server and then discarded. It is never stored and never sent to the AI model. Before any text reaches the AI model or is saved, we replace email addresses, phone numbers (US and international), street addresses, and names in contact and signature blocks with placeholders. Redaction is pattern-based, so a name or company mentioned in free text with no label may not be caught. We keep the redacted extracted text and normalized line items (SKU, description, manufacturer, quantity, unit price) in your workspace, isolated from other customers by Postgres row-level security. If we can't read a PDF's text (for example a scan), we stop and tell you. We never send the file itself to the AI model. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Where does the benchmark data come from?
From published public-sector contract prices, where we hold a matching reference, each shown with its source and date. Coverage is still growing, so some lines will show no reference yet. They are not private negotiated discounts or any manufacturer's own list price, and your price may differ. Contributed peer pricing is on the roadmap and will only appear once at least 8 organizations stand behind a figure.
How accurate is the AI extraction?
Extraction runs on frontier AI models. Each line item carries a match strategy (exact, fuzzy, or AI) so you always know how a benchmark was found, and lines we cannot match are labeled no data instead of guessed.
Can I use this in vendor negotiations?
Yes. The report cites public reference prices line by line, so you can show your work in a negotiation or bid evaluation. Benchmarks are estimates, not a guarantee of savings (see Terms).
